As a Greek Cypriot living in the UK, Greek Easter is a tradition close to my heart. For six years, I’ve been creating Greek Easter Lampades here in the UK, bringing together the tradition I grew up with and the modern, personalised style of Velia’s.

For me, Greek Easter Lampades aren’t simply another seasonal collection.
Being Greek Cypriot, I grew up knowing the tradition and the excitement of receiving your Lampada, carrying it to church on Holy Saturday and the special relationship between a godparent and godchild that so often sits behind the gift.
Six years ago, I began making Greek Easter Lampades here in the UK. Since then, Velia’s Lampades have travelled to families across the UK, Europe and the United States, carrying a little piece of our tradition with them.
Every year, we create each Lampada with meraki which is a Greek word that describes putting a piece of yourself, your love and your soul into what you create.
Our meraki is preserving the tradition we love while adding a modern, personalised touch to every Lampada we make.

A Lampada is a decorated candle traditionally used during the Greek Orthodox Easter celebrations. It is carried and lit during the Holy Saturday church service and is especially associated with the tradition of godparents gifting a Lampada to their godchildren.

How long does it take to make a Lampada?
Our Lampades are made to order, so preparation time can vary depending on the design and demand, particularly as Greek Easter approaches. Please check the current production and delivery information before ordering, and we always recommend ordering early during our busiest Easter period.
Do you deliver Greek Easter Lampades outside the UK?
Yes. Over the years, our handmade Lampades have been delivered throughout the UK as well as to customers in Europe and the United States. Available international delivery options and costs will be shown during checkout.
When should I order my Greek Easter Lampada?
As every Lampada is made to order and Easter is our busiest period, we recommend ordering as early as possible. Each year we announce our final ordering dates based on production capacity and delivery destinations.
