THE STORY BEHIND VELIA’S CANDLES
Velia’s Candles began in 2020, during a time when the world had suddenly become very still. Living in the UK, away from my home in Cyprus, I found myself looking for something creative that could bring a little comfort, warmth and purpose into everyday life.
I started making candles at home, pouring each one by hand and learning the craft piece by piece. What began at my kitchen table soon became something much bigger than I had imagined. It has become a handmade business built around the moments, traditions and people that mean the most to me.
Six years later, I’m still here making, pouring, decorating and packing Velia’s creations by hand, only now they’re finding their way into homes and celebrations far beyond my own.

WHY VELIA’S?
The name comes from the most important person in my life, my daughter, Velia.
She was my inspiration when I started the business and remains at the heart of it today. I wanted to create something that carried her name and represented the same feelings of warmth, love and joy that she brings into my life.
And so, Velia’s Candles was born. 🤍

Today, Velia’s has grown far beyond the candles I first poured at my kitchen table, but the way I create has never really changed.
Everything is still made with care and attention to detail. From our scented candles and seasonal collections to Greek Easter Lampades, personalised wedding and christening favours and the little gifts we create throughout the year.
Some pieces are made in small batches, while others are made especially to order. What connects them all is something simple: I want every Velia’s creation to feel thoughtful, personal and made for a reason. Whether it’s bringing a little warmth into your own home or being given to someone you love.
